"Catrice participated in the Girl Scout Wellness Challenge, where 11 girls in grades 5-6 met once a week for 5 weeks. The goal of this challenge was to prepare the girls for an adventure race at the end of the program. In order to do that, the girls explored healthy relationships, team building, leadership, nutrition, and adventure racing basics. Catrice worked with the girls and helped them learn more about healthy relationships and leadership. Catrice was very warm and inviting, and she developed a great connection with the girls. Her activities were fun and kept the girls’ attention. The girls were able to further define for themselves what constitutes a healthy relationship. In regards to leadership, the girls were able to identify their own leadership skills and what areas they can improve on, as well as what leadership qualities they value in others. Throughout the weeks of this wellness challenge, I have been able to further process with the girls and tie together what they learned with Catrice to how they will use that information on the adventure race day. Catrice helped us establish a solid foundation for the program, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with"!
